Q. What is the eligibility criteria?

  • The student must have passed his/her 10th and 12th class from Delhi.
  • The award is given to a student, who tops among the SC/ST/OBC/Minorities in each discipline of the professional/technical degree course.
  • The topper student is awarded only once after passing out of the final examination of the course.
  • Being a merit based award, no family income limit has been laid down.
  • Students receiving scholarship under Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Post Matric Scholarship’ or any other scholarships are also eligible for award under this Scheme.

Q. What is the application process?

A. Following are the steps to apply for the scholarship scheme:

Step 1 – Register yourself here.

Step 2- Login here after registration.

Step 3- Fill the applications along with supporting documents.

Step 4- The topper students of affiliated colleges of enlisted institutions should submit their applications along with supporting documents, self-attested, to the Head of the College who, in turn, will forward the same to Head of the Institution to which the same is affiliated.

Step 5 - Head of the Institution may forward all the applications with consolidated statement to Deputy Director, Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Ministry, IInd Floor, B Block, Vikas Bhawan, New Delhi-110002

A. Award of INR 8,000 is given to every eligible student, who are the toppers of their institution.

A. The objective of the scheme is to encourage SC/ST/OBC/Minority students to continue their studies at college level by providing them scholarship so as to reduce financial burden on their parents, because spreading higher education along with development of merit amongst the SC/ST communities is one of the priority programmes of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Delhi.
